Megan Larson, Counselor

Hello! My name is Megan Larson and I am the school counselor at George W. Long Elementary. I grew up in Seattle, Washington and received my Bachelor's degree from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. I got my Master of Education degree in School Counseling from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. I moved to Dale County when my husband, Patrick, was stationed at Fort Rucker. We are so excited to be here!

As the school counselor, I serve in a variety of different roles. I teach monthly guidance lessons on a variety of topics such as bullying, making friends, and managing emotions. I also conduct peer mediation sessions with students and counsel them individually. My other roles include Attendance Monitor, Registrar, 504 Coordinator, English Language Learner Coordinator, and Building Test Coordinator.

I truly love working with children and supporting their social and emotional development, and I am always happy to work with parents to help their children reach their goals. I can be reached by email at mlarson@dalecountyboe.org or by phone at (334) 774-0021.
