B.S. in Psychology/Human Services in 1990 - Troy University, Troy, AL

M.S. in Elementary Education in 1992- Troy University, Troy, AL

I started out working for two years in the human services field.  Then I worked for two years as an adult education instructor with the North Alabama Skills Center and one year as Community Education Coordinator for the Winfield City School system before taking a few years off to stay home while my children were young.  During that time I spent half of a year teaching first grade in a temporary position and one year teaching part time as a remediation teacher for the high school graduation exam.

I have had the opportunity to teach multiple grades at the elementary and middle school levels. My experience includes sixth grade math and science, seventh grade reading and science, and eighth grade science. I taught fifth grade for five years and fourth grade for one year.  I have a total of sixteen years of experience in education.  This will be my fourth year in third grade.

I am originally from Winfield, a small town in Northwest Alabama.  (Roll Tide!)  After graduating from Winfield City High School in 1986, I went to Troy University where I met my husband, Paul, a 1986 graduate of G. W. Long High School.  We have three children. Joe graduated from LHS. He is a junior at Troy University.  Gabe, a senior, and Hannah, a sophomore, both attend LHS. We have two dogs-a golden retriever named Evan and a dachshund named Jase.
