I attended Dothan High School and graduated in 1994. I went to Wallace College for two years and then went to Auburn University where I received a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Special Education. I graduated from Auburn in 1998.

When I graduated from college I got a job teaching at Cloverdale Elem. School in Dothan, Al. I taught K-1st graders with special needs. It was neat being at Cloverdale because that is where I attended school in Kindergarten. I taught there for 3 years. After that I taught at Hidden Lake Elem. School (K-2nd grade) in Dothan for 3 years. Then in 2005 I began teaching at G.W. Long Elem. This is my 13th year of teaching and I have enjoyed each one. They have all been a blessing and a challenge for me to make myself a better teacher.

My name is Meredith Waddell and I am married to Jason Waddell. We have been married for 12 years and have one son, Cole, who is in the 5th grade.  I live in the country and enjoy the peace and quiet. We have two dogs, Buddy and Betsy. They are very sweet.  I go to Pine Level Baptist Church where I sing in the choir and teach the youth group on Wed. nights. Our church is like one big family. For fun I like to scrapbook and go fishing. (The only thing about fishing is I don't like to get the fish off the hook, I let my husband do that!) I also enjoy watching Cole play football on Saturdays:) When I'm not yelling for the Rebels I am screaming WARRRRR-EAGLE !!!!!!! That's right I'm a big Auburn fan!! Spending time with my family is very important to me. God has blessed me with them and I don't want to ever take them for granted. My ideal weekend is grilling steaks with my family and watching movies. Oh, and I can't forget the chocolate cake for dessert.
