Experience

This is my 18th year in the classroom.  I taught second grade at Clayton Elementary my first year of teaching.  I was hired the next year at Long Elementary, and I have been blessed to teach third grade ever since at this wonderful school.  On a daily basis I teach Reading, English, Spelling, Phonics, Cursive, Math, Social Studies, and Science.

Henry Adams said, "A teacher affects eternity: they can never tell where their influence stops."  I believe my role as a teacher plays an integral part in creating the future of our society.  It is my job to not only introduce and help children master new knowledge, but just as important, to help students become self-sufficient, self-motivated and productive citizens.  What a rewarding job!

Bio

Welcome to third grade!  Here is a little bit about myself.  I have 4 boys - Holt (16), Hasten (16), Grant (10), and Talmadge "Tal" (5).  I am married to Heath Watson, owner of Thorne's Wholesale Tire & Automotive.  We also own chicken houses.  My family and I reside in Skipperville, Alabama.  We are members of Morgan Baptist Church where I teach Sunday School.  I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping, going to the beach, and decorating.

I thank God for the opportunity to be a positive influence in so many children's lives.  Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."
